Insights on the Aha! Moment

digcoaching-lightbulpThe Aha! moment (a/k/a Eureka!, an insight epiphany, the “I get it,” the light bulb) refers to the human experience of suddenly understanding a previously incomprehensible problem or concept.

The term “Aha!” is used to describe the process in problem solving when a previously unsolvable puzzle becomes suddenly clear and obvious, transitioning from not understanding to spontaneous comprehension accompanied by an exclamation of joy or satisfaction.

An Aha! moment appears suddenly and points to a solution to a problem that the individual experiencing it is convinced is a true solution.

Conceptually an Aha! has two parts. First, it requires a disconnect where the problem solver comes upon an impasse where they become stuck seemingly having exhausted all possibilities. Then there is the Aha! that occurs suddenly and unexpectedly after a break in mental fixation or re-evaluating the problem (many times our mental fixation is what blinds us to the obvious).

At DIG Coaching we are about helping those with ADHD to find obvious solutions that are not yet obvious by using insightful thinking over more methodical one-size-fits-all approaches. In the simplest terms, we are focused on the science of one, the science of YOU! Stay plugged in to learn more or visit us at www.digcoaching.com.
