Is Limiting Choices the Key to Managing ADHD?

Could keeping things simple be the key to managing ADHD? Rather than be overwhelmed by choices and decisions, we might consider some helpful points from Peter Shankman, founder of HARO (Help A Reporter Out) and founder/CEO of The Geek Factory. In a podcast on Attention Talk Radio, Peter revealed his principle of limiting choices and keeping life simple by living outside the box.

Peter had to learn what he’s good at and what he’s bad at, what helps or hurts him and what his triggers are. Knowing these things allows him to live in a way that’s beneficial without wallowing in procrastination or struggling to get a dopamine fix. He makes choices that keep life simple. For example, to force himself to work against a deadline, he got on a round-trip flight from the U.S. to Asia and worked straight through while strapped into an airline seat in order to write one of his four books. By the way, that book turned out to be one of his bestsellers.
